Gravel Plant

Excavator – backhoe arm bearing

A gravel plant in South Germany struggled with wear issues occurring at the original slide bearings of a backhoe. Often, the conventionally lubricated slide bearings were completely destroyed after an operating time of only 3 to 4 weeks and needed to be replaced in a tedious process. Due to the repair work, the equipment was often down for 2-3 days at a time. In the course of an experiment, highly wear-resistant, maintenance-free MANGACHOC slide bearings were mounted. A bearing inspection after 6 months showed but barely measurable wear. (Ref.43)
